Learn more about Device Settings for AlterLock Gen2

Alarm

You can set whether or not the AlterLock device will sound an alarm when motion is detected.
The setting of the alarm is linked to the setting of the first warning sound.

If you are in an area where you do not want the alarm to sound, it is recommended that you turn it off. Turning off the alarm does not affect anomaly notifications, tracking or other functions.
*If you only want to turn off notifications, go to the Control tab on the main screen and turn off Notification.

Initial warning tone

You can set whether or not a low volume warning tone is sounded on the first detection of an abnormality after a locked state.
If you turn it off, a maximum volume alarm sound will be sounded the first time.

It is recommended to turn it on in areas where shocks are likely to occur due to factors other than theft and where you do not want a loud alarm to sound.

Alarm Duration

The alarm sound duration of the AlterLock device itself can be set between 5 seconds and 60 seconds in 5 second increments.

Alarm Limit

It is possible to set the number of times the alarm will sound after the lock state has been reached, up to the first detection of an error.
When set to 1-3 times, the alarm will not sound and only the tracking function will sound after that number of times.
set to unlimited, an alarm will sound each time a detection is made.

If you want to prioritise the possibility of being able to trace the device in case it is taken away, set it to 1-3 times. If you set it to unlimited, the alarm will sound every time and the uptime will be reduced.

Alarm Off Automatically

When set to On, the alarm will automatically turn off when your phone’s battery falls below 10%. Also, the alarm will return to “Automatically turn on when the smartphone battery reaches 50% or more”.

If your smartphone’s battery is dead, you will not be able to operate the lock state, so it is recommended that you leave it on.
*If you have manually turned off the alarm, it will not automatically turn on.
*This function works only during Bluetooth connection.

Periodic Transmission Interval

Set the interval when periodic transmissions are turned on in the main screen.

Periodic transmissions should not be turned on all the time, as this will consume more battery power and reduce the uptime.
If the device is to be switched on for a longer period of time, it is recommended that it is set to 180 minutes or more in order to extend the device’s operating time.

Low Battery Notification

Your smartphone will be notified when the battery in your AlterLock device is low.

*Notifications are only available during Bluetooth connection.

System sound

You can turn the system sound on and off when locking and unlocking. The system sound will be played once when locked and twice when unlocked.

*Regardless of this setting, the system sound will be played when the AlterLock device is locked and unlocked by the buttons.
