Motion detection alarm for peace of mind
When motion is detected a loud alarm sound of up to 95dB is triggered to deter theft by a loud alarm sound of up to 95dB. The motion detection sensitivity and alarm sounding time can be adjusted to accommodate a variety of situations and provide peace of mind, even on a bike rack.
Although taking extra precaution is highly recommended, we have received many reports of cases where the alarm went off causing the perpetrator to fleeing the scene.
In most cases, it is important to prevent theft before it happens.
Evolved transmission performance
When the device detects movement, the device will send out a signal (by Bluetooth for close range and LTE-M / NB-IoT transmission over long distances) to notify the user of the anomaly via a unique notification tone from the app.
Compared to previous model, AlterLock Gen3 boasts significantly improved transmission performance and reception capability in a wide range of areas globally.
Improved tracking performance
In the unlikely event that your bike is stolen, AlterLock can track it using GNSS (GPS & Galileo), Wi-Fi and 4G base station signals to attempt to locate the final location both indoors and outdoors.
AlterLock Gen3 has improved the algorithm for acquiring location information to shorten positioning time and improve accuracy. This new system is the first of its kind in the world.
Unlike loss prevention devices like Bluetooth tracker, AlterLock independently tracks its location location.

Countermeasures against false positives
Worried about accidentally setting off an alarm?
The first warning alarm is designed to set off to serve as a short warning.
In case of actual theft, a loud alarm can be used to deter further action.
The alarm duration can be set anywhere from 5 to 60 seconds, and there is also an option to mute the alarm sound if situation may fit. With all settings easily adjustable via the app, there is no need to worry about the alarm ringing continuously and disturbing neighbors.
Compatible with bike racks
By setting the detection sensitivity to “Low,” which is optimized for cycle rack usage, the system can be used with peace of mind even if there is some lateral swaying due to wind or other rack users nudging your bike.
Small and lightweight
The device weight is about 50g, which is comparable to a small cycle computer. Since it is sandwiched between the bottle cage and the bike frame, aero performance is not largely affected.
Water and dust resistance
The waterproof and dustproof performance is IP66 which means there is no problem even if you wash your bike while the device is attached to your bike. The housing structure has been greatly improved to enhance waterproof performance and durability for Gen3.
Long run time
By reducing power consumption through advanced programming, Gen3 achieves up to 3 months of run time, which is approximately twice as long as the previous Gen2 model. The charging port uses USB Type-C.

When you ride solo or in a group, or when you leave your road bike for a break, you can lock the bike with just one app, and your phone will be notified if there is anything unusual. alarm went off and I went to where I left my bike and found it gone. The map had been updated to show a nearby parking lot, so I went there and found the bike abandoned there. I don’t know if it was a prank or theft, but the bike was not lost.
